From the enormous T-rex standing sentinel over the building, to a carnival carousel, the Indianapolis Children's Museum is full of surprises and delights sure to entertain everyone in your group. An impressive collection of toy trains lines a gallery hall, and visitors to the Star Wars exhibit are treated to displays of actual costumes worn by Natalie Portman and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as the drawings and sketches used to create the movie attire. Each gallery is packed with interactive exhibits that kids could jump right into, and informative displays for the whole family. A particular favorite seemed to be plexi-glass dino egg that kiddos could crawl into and peer out of .
The multi-story tower of blown glass in the center of the museum is stunning, although one does wonder how they manage to keep it clean! If you don't have young have children young enough to appreciate a day at the museum, borrow one! You'll be glad you did!
