Desperately Seeking Something to Celebrate
When it comes to dating checks we've definitely moved on to 2012 (with the occasional and completely understandable tendency to revert back to 2011 or some other random year!) But as far as Fishers Indiana real estate goes, we're still working our way through statistics for 2011. The November 2011 Fishers housing market report is out, and the numbers are... nothing to celebrate. When compared to November of 2010, the Fishers housing market lost ground in every category but one during November 2011: New Inventory decreased by a healthy 33.6 percent.
The disappointing numbers for Fishers real estate in November 2011 are in contrast to the Hamilton County housing market as a whole, in which there were several bright spots when comparing November 2011 to the previous year, including gains in Closed Sales (+11.5%), Median Sales Price (+7.7%) and Average Sales Price (+15.9%). Fishers' neighbor to the west, Carmel also fared well in November 2011 market activity. Read the Carmel real estate report here!
The good news is that the Fishers housing market numbers are a bit more encouraging when comparing activity for a three month stretch, September - November. Fishers Closed Sales for September - November 2011 as compared to the same time frame in 2010 were up by 6%, as were Average Sale Price (+6.2%) and, ever so slightly, Percent of Original List Price Received at Sale (+0.2%).
December 2011 housing market stats for Fishers will be out soon, so check back for that report. Then it's (finally!) time to move on to 2012. Here's hoping for something to celebrate!
